The Radio Controlled Aircraft Committee (Model Aircraft) was established in 1983, with the establishment of the Department of Aviation Sciences and Radio Controlled Cars at the Scientific Club. Continuing its efforts to advance the competitions held by the Scientific Club to an international level, a radio control runway was constructed in the Bnaider area, conforming to international standards and requirements. Its dimensions are 180m long x 35m wide, in addition to a safety area of 350m x 250m. It is the largest of its kind for radio controlled aircraft racing in Kuwait. The most important achievements of this committee were as follows:

  • •Organizing the Gulf Radio Controlled Aircraft Competition for three consecutive years, from 2017 to 2019, under the supervision of the International Air Sports Federation (FAI) and relevant international, Gulf, and Arab organizations and federations. Competitions were held at the Scientific Club's Radio Controlled Aircraft Runway in the Bnaider area, with the participation of international, Kuwaiti, Gulf, and Arab competitors. The competitions were divided into three categories: "Helicopter" and "Jet", a miniature version of a real aircraft. Jets and 3D propeller-driven aircraft.
  • • Representing Kuwait in the EXFC European Extreme Flight Championship, one of the most important European and international championships, held in Znojmo, Czech Republic, in 2017, under the sponsorship of several international companies specializing in RF aircraft. Kuwait was the only Arab country participating in this championship.
  • •Achieving the top three places in the first Dubai Masters International RF Freestyle Championship in 2019, held at the SkyHop RC Club in the Al Lisaili area on the Dubai-Al Ain Road. More than 70 pilots representing 21 countries participated, including seven Arab countries: Kuwait, the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, and Algeria.
